Teams
The Lincolnshire Bombers currently run three sides that compete in the British American Football League (BAFL); a senior side (18+), an under-19s and an under-17s that can cater for ages as low as 13-years-old.
All our American Football sides are mixed sex so women can compete in the BAFL. At present we have no dedicated women’s team but with enough interest from players we are always open to building the club and entering the league.
Rookie Open Days
Our rookie open days are the perfect way for new players to the sport to learn about the game and how to play it, plus what positions are best suited to you without needing any experience or kit related to American Football.
You can register your interest in our rookie open days during the off-season. If you're thinking of joining us then join our Prospective Players Facebook Group, here you'll receive the latest news, hear from the coaches and be able to ask any questions about the open days, getting kit or joining the team.
American Football Training
We train every Sunday morning (when there’s no gameday) at Memorial Hall (Newark Road, North Hykeham, LN69RY) from 10:00 – 12:30. The first session of the season officially starts in the first weekend of January and all sessions are open and free to attendees.
We also run a fitness session for the senior side on a Thursday evening at Memorial Hall (from 18:30) to compliment strength, conditioning and tactical work. Find out more about our training here.
How much does American Football cost?
Our rookie open days are always free. To play matches for the Bombers you then need to pay a single subscription fee to cover the entire season which can be broken down into smaller payments on request. These fees work out as:
£225 (if you live within 15 miles of Lincoln and are in full-time employment)
£125 (if you live further than 15 miles from Lincoln/are a student/or are unemployed)
£50+£10 per game (if you join mid-season and pay on a game-by-game basis)
£120 (for under-19s)
£90 (for under-17s)
Players will also need to register with the British American Football Association before they can play in games for insurance purposes.
